These terms govern your use of Refractr (the "Service"), a structured-data extraction API operated from the Netherlands. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Questions: [email protected].
1. The alpha — no SLA or warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee any uptime, availability, response time, or accuracy of extraction results, and there is no service-level agreement during the alpha. You are responsible for validating outputs before relying on them.
2. Accounts
Alpha access is invite-gated. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys secret and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe a key has been compromised; you can revoke keys at any time from your dashboard.
3. Credits, pricing, and refunds
- Usage is billed in prepaid credits. One successful extraction costs one credit; failed extractions are not charged.
- Credits are purchased in advance and are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
- Credits have no cash value, are tied to your account, and cannot be transferred or resold.
- We may change pricing. For changes that affect the price of credits you have not yet purchased, we will give reasonable advance notice. Changes do not retroactively affect credits already bought.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- process content that is unlawful, or that you do not have the right to submit;
- submit personal data or other regulated data that you are not permitted to process or share, keeping in mind the alpha data handling described in our Privacy Policy;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that put the Service or other users at risk.
5. Data
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and — importantly during the alpha — how submitted documents may be used to improve and train the extraction model. Please read it before sending real data.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Refractr and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for credits in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the alpha, or your access to it, at any time. On termination, unused credits may be forfeited unless a refund is required by law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by notifying you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
